Kevin Fahey
Head of Rigging Solutions
-
Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Kevin Fahey's story is one of hard work, perseverance, and a lifelong commitment to the entertainment industry. As one of 13 children in a large Buffalo family, Kevin learned early the values of teamwork, determination, and accountability—qualities that would become the foundation of a remarkable career spanning more than 35 years. Before entering the film industry, Kevin proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, an experience that helped shape the discipline, leadership, and work ethic that would define his professional life. In 1990, Kevin took his first steps into the motion picture industry on the Stephen King adaptation Graveyard Shift. Like many who build careers behind the scenes, he started at the ground level and worked his way through the ranks. During his first five to seven years in the business, Kevin worked primarily on set as a Set Grip, Best Boy Grip, and Key Grip on splinter units, developing a deep understanding of production and the teamwork required to bring stories to life. As his career evolved, Kevin found his true calling in the rigging side of the business. Over the next 25 years, he established himself as one of the industry's most respected rigging professionals, serving as a Rigging Grip, Rigging Best Boy, and ultimately a Rigging Key Grip on some of Hollywood's most demanding productions. A pivotal moment in Kevin's career came in 1995 while working on How to Make an American Quilt, where he met Charley Gilleran. What began as a professional relationship quickly developed into a lasting friendship and partnership. Over the next three decades, Kevin and Charley worked together on countless productions, building not only a reputation for excellence but also a bond founded on trust, shared values, and a passion for the craft. Throughout his career, Kevin had the privilege of serving as Rigging Key Grip on several notable productions, including Ray, Straight Outta Compton, Dunkirk (U.S. production), and One Battle After Another. Each project presented unique challenges and opportunities to collaborate with some of the industry's finest technicians, filmmakers, and craftspeople. Reflecting on more than three decades in the business, Kevin considers himself fortunate to have worked alongside extraordinary people and to have learned invaluable lessons throughout the journey. Those experiences, combined with the enduring partnership he built with Charley, led to the creation of C&C Studio Services in 2008. Together, Kevin and Charley grew C&C Studio Services through a commitment to service, safety, innovation, and relationships. The company's success was made possible by the dedicated technicians who trusted them, the producers who believed in their vision, and the countless clients who returned project after project. Today, that journey has reached an exciting new chapter. As the leaders of the Cinelease Rigging Division, Kevin Fahey and Charley Gilleran bring decades of production experience, industry knowledge, and proven leadership to a larger platform. Supported by the outstanding team at Cinelease, they remain committed to providing best-in-class rigging solutions while continuing to build on the relationships and values that have guided their careers from the very beginning. From a young man growing up in Buffalo and serving his country in the Marine Corps, to becoming one of the industry's respected rigging leaders, Kevin Fahey's career stands as a testament to dedication, friendship, and the belief that success is built one project—and one relationship—at a time.
